Comment during Meeting
Public Hearings, Input, and Comments
Citizen input is encouraged and appreciated during Council meetings. The public is invited to voice their opinions on specific items the Council is considering during Public Hearings and Public Input for those items. The public also has the opportunity to provide feedback on any general issue related to the City during Public Comments near the end of each City Council meeting.
Request to be on the AgendaAn individual or group may request the opportunity to present information during a Council meeting. This time is reserved for non-profits or individuals who are presenting information of general interest to the community.
These presentations are limited to 10 minutes and are subject to Council leadership approval. Presentations may not include requests for funding or address issues upon which the Council will act.

Addressing the CouncilWhen recognized by the Chair, please come to the podium, speak into the microphone, and clearly state your name and address for the official record. All comments should be directed to the City Council. It is appropriate to address the Council, members of the Administration, and the public by title (e.g., Chair White, Vice Chair Blair, Mayor Caldwell, Mr., Ms.)
The Council requests that an atmosphere of mutual respect be maintained during Council meetings. The Council will not tolerate disorderly conduct, as defined in section 5-3A-1 of the Ogden City Municipal Code, which includes insulting language or behavior by any person,
including members of the audience, Council, or Administration. We also ask that there be no name calling, clapping, shouting, or booing.
Distributing MaterialsIf you have printed information to distribute to the Council, please indicate that you do when the Chair recognizes you to speak. A Council staff member will distribute the information for you. Citizens should not go beyond the public podium or approach the Council bench.
Printed materials to be distributed prior to a Council meeting should also be given to Council staff. Please provide 15 copies of the materials and allow sufficient time for staff to deliver materials to the Council and City Recorder. All printed materials will be made part of the public record.
