Ogden City Water is responsible for maintaining and replacing City owned water mains throughout its service area, while property owners are responsible for private mains, service lines and meter pits at their service address.
Common Leaks
Water leaks can cost homeowners hundreds of dollars in the form of damage to the home as well as in the water that is metered and lost to a leak. Common types of leaks found in the home are worn toilet flappers, dripping faucets, and other leaking valves. These types of leaks are often easily correctable, requiring only a few tools and hardware that can pay for themselves in water savings.
Suspected Leaks
If you suspect a leak but are unsure where to begin, contact our office and set up a high bill check. One of our crews will set an appointment to meet you at the property. They will assist you to start the process to identify if you have a leak. Customers experiencing leaks will need to have leaks verified by a high bill inspection if they are applying for a leak adjustment to their bill.
Application for Adjustment
Ogden City may, in its sole discretion, grant a credit to a customer's water bill for a leak in the customer's water system. An application for adjustment must be completed and turned in with detailed documentation of the leak and the repair. Adjustments are determined based on the type of leak and if past adjustments have been made. Application for Adjustment (PDF)
