The City of Ogden has initiated a zoning ordinance text amendment regarding permitted and conditional uses and design standards in the M-1 and M-2 industrial zones. M-1 and M-2 zones are located on the west side of Ogden. See the map on this page.
The proposed amendments would do the following:
Prohibit new junk and salvage yards, rebuildable car lots, recycling collection centers, and limit the area vehicles could be stored in new auto repair shops.
Limit new entertainment and fitness facilities, except motor vehicle related.
Allow manufactured home sales displays and RV storage lots with offices.
Limit new personal storage facilities.
Modify setback, height, and lot coverage standards.
Establish design standards for new industrial buildings.
Establish landscape buffer standards between industrial and residential uses.
The Ogden City Planning Commission recommended approval of the amendments at its August 2, 2023 meeting. The Ogden City Council will consider it at a future meeting.
